During the month when Hyundai and Kia are celebrating their best February, some models obviously caught the attention, while others didn’t have that many. Both brands in the U.S. market have strong sales in 2025, but as usual, the performance is far from uniform. The modern Elantra and sonata will definitely smash it, and Kona and Santa Cruz are trying to keep up.

Modern February performance

Hyundai sold 62,032 vehicles in February 2025, an increase of 3% from 60,341 units in the same month last year. The company’s best annual growth of 8%, with a total of 116,535 cars sold so far. Tucson remains the brand’s best-selling model, with 16,317 units, a 2% increase from last February. Similarly, sales of sonata rose from 4,379 to 5,334, and jumped from 7,500 to 10,091. IONIQ 5 sales also rose to 2,442 from 1,996 in February.

Kona and Santa Cruz dipped

Things aren’t that optimistic for some other models of the modern day. Kona, for example, saw sales drop 20% to 5,629 units, while the Santa Cruz Pickup fell 25% to just 1,938 units sold. So while the brand is doing well overall, it’s clear that some models are working to maintain momentum.
