Kia Motors to be launched in India – all-new SUVs, MPVs, EVs

South Korean carmaker Kia has an aggressive product strategy for the Indian market. The OEM plans to expand its product portfolio with a range of ICE-powered models and electric vehicles, as well as update its existing product line. The new Kia Carnival and EV9 will be launched on October 3, 2024. The former will debut in an updated fourth-generation incarnation with noticeable cosmetic changes and feature upgrades, while the latter will be the flagship model with a host of advanced features.

In 2025, Kia India will launch the Carens facelift, which has been spotted several times during trials. The compact MPV is likely to get minimal changes inside and out while retaining its existing powertrain setup. The Korean automaker is also working on Kia Karens electric carPrices are expected to start from Rs 2.5 million next year. There are no specifications for the electric MPV yet.

The Kia Carens electric test mule was recently spotted testing and it’s heavily camouflaged to hide its design changes. The model is likely to feature a closed grille similar to the EV9, and some design elements such as bumpers and alloy wheels may be similar to the Kia EV3 and EV5 sold globally.

A mass production version is expected to be launched by the end of 2024. Key features include a 10.25-inch infotainment unit and instrument cluster, panoramic sunroof, ventilated and power front seats, tow and drive modes, leatherette upholstery, and more.

The upcoming Syros subcompact SUV is expected to be priced slightly higher than the Sonet, which currently starts at Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom). Kia India will also launch an electric version of the Syros by mid-2025.

this Kia EV3Launched in May 2024, the product will be launched in Europe by the end of this year and in Asian markets in early 2025. There is no official word about the launch in India yet, but it may launch in the country sometime next year. Similar to the EV9, the EV3 will be based on the E-GMP modular platform and follow Kia’s design language.
