Kia India has just released another teaser of its upcoming compact SUV Kia Syros and it has everyone excited. The latest news shows that the Syros will be equipped with a panoramic sunroof, which is one of its outstanding features and is expected to bring a sense of luxury to this compact SUV. But that’s not all. Syros will also offer a host of premium features, including ventilated seats, multiple driving modes, traction control, leatherette upholstery and a state-of-the-art Bose audio system.
What did the trailer say?
What sets the Kia Syros apart from other compact SUVs is its emphasis on comfort and space, especially for rear-seat passengers. Syros maximizes cabin space with its boxy design, flat roof and upright rear end. Despite being less than 4 meters long, it is expected to offer more interior space than the Kia Sonet, putting it on the same level as larger SUVs such as the Kia Seltos. This makes it a solid choice for those who want more space without compromising on style.
The teaser images reveal design cues that are very similar to Kia’s flagship EV9. The Syros has a unique shape with a clamshell hood that slopes smoothly down to a tall, sharp front end. Another eye-catching detail is the upwardly extending window line, which tapers towards the rear of the vehicle and is reminiscent of the distinctive appearance of the Skoda Yeti.
While Kia is yet to confirm the exact engine options, industry rumors suggest that the Syros will be available in both petrol/diesel (ICE) and electric versions. Petrol/diesel models are expected to hit the roads first, with electric versions to follow. Both versions will share the same platform and offer front-wheel drive, which should provide a smooth and efficient ride.
Positioned higher than current sub-400 SUVs such as the Hyundai Venue, Kia Sonet, Maruti Brezza and the newly launched Skoda Kylaq, the Syros aims to set a new benchmark in its segment. Although there is no official confirmation yet, Kia is likely to showcase the production version of the Syros at the Bharat Mobile Expo in January 2025, giving us a closer look at what’s to come.
