The Kia Syros is just days away from its official debut scheduled for December 19, 2024. This new sub-4 meter SUV from the Korean carmaker will challenge the Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV300 and Upcoming Skoda Kylaq. It will also compete with other subcompact SUVs including Maruti Brezza and Tata Nexon.
The Kia Syros will make its public debut at the Bharat Mobile Expo 2025 in January and its pricing is expected to be announced at the event. Official bookings for the Syros will begin in the coming weeks, but some Kia dealers have already started taking bookings for the car.

Six models, two engines
Official details of the Kia Syros will be revealed on Thursday. According to the leaked information, the Syros range will include six trims: HTK, HTK (O), HTK+, HTX, HTX+ and HTX+ (O). Buyers will have a choice of two engines: a 1.0-liter turbo-petrol and a 1.5-liter turbo-diesel. Source of information
The petrol engine is claimed to churn out 120 hp and 172 Nm of torque, while the diesel engine churns out 116 hp and 250 Nm of torque. A variety of transmission options will be available, varying depending on the model, and include both manual and automatic transmissions.
A “lounge-like” experience
Spy images reveal several interesting details about the new Kia compact SUV. A highlight of the Syros is rear seat space, which is reportedly more spacious than the Kia Sonet. The automaker claims the Syros will offer a “lounge-like” experience with state-of-the-art amenities and flexible seating arrangements. The subcompact SUV will also feature reclining rear seats for improved comfort.
Fully functional interior
The Kia Syros promises a well-appointed cabin. The large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto will be reserved for higher-end trims. In addition, a 12.3-inch fully digital instrument panel will be available.
The official teaser highlights features like a new two-spoke steering wheel, wireless phone charging, a power driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, USB-C ports, a panoramic sunroof (only available on top trims), a 360-degree camera, and more. Front parking sensors and Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems). Mid-spec models will include a single-pane sunroof. The Syros will also offer multiple terrain modes – Mud, Snow, Wet and Sand – to enhance its versatility in different driving conditions.

The trailer and spy photos show the tall and straight figure of the Syrosian. At the front, it features Kia’s signature tiger-nose grille, vertically stacked LED headlights and daytime running lights, and a clamshell bonnet with the signature logo. The side profile is bold, with thick black cladding on the wheel arches, newly designed alloy wheels, and B-pillars in the same color as the body. Top-end models may get unique 17-inch alloy wheels. Like the Mahindra XUV700, the Kia Syros also gets recessed door handles. At the rear, the SUV features L-shaped high-mounted taillights and a unique kink near the rear side glass, adding to its unique design.
