- The EV9 may soon be launched in an X-Pro variant similar to the Sportage and Sorento.
- The second concept appears to be based on the PV5 electric van.
Kia has become a cooler and more popular brand than it was a decade ago, and at next month’s SEMA show, Kia will unveil two products that show just how stylish the automaker can get.
var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que:()}; adpushup.que.push(function() { if (adpushup.config.platform !== “DESKTOP”) { adpushup.triggerAd(“4d84e4c9 -9937-4f84-82c0-c94544ee6f2a”); } else{ adpushup.triggerAd(” 6a782b01-facb-45f3-a88f-ddf1b1f97657″); } });
While only two teasers have been released for the new model, there are no prizes for anyone who can guess what Kia is up to. The first concept is obviously based on the existing all-electric EV9, as evidenced by the obvious LED headlights and daytime running lights.

Kia then installed a yellow LED light bar on the roof of the three-row SUV and installed three smaller yellow LED lights between the headlights. A pair of tow hooks are also visible. The special EV9 appears to be a more off-road focused model. Whether the concept will lead to a production model remains to be seen, but Kia does offer some slightly more adventurous versions of the SUV, such as the Sportage X-Pro and Sorento X-Pro. It would only make sense if the EV9 also got the X-Pro treatment. Or the brand might be developing some separate accessories that could be launched for electric vehicles.

The trailer for the second car is a bit unusual. These LEDs are quite different from anything Kia currently makes, but they do look identical to the ones found on the PV5, the electric van Kia unveiled at CES in January and will soon hit the production line. We can see Kia adding two additional lighting fixtures to the concept’s front fascia and, like the EV9, a yellow LED light strip on the roof.
Determining Kia’s plans for this model is a little more difficult. While there may be some demand for an off-road version of the EV9, we suspect there will be a smaller market for off-road commercial vehicles like the PV5.
Regardless, all will be revealed at the SEMA Show in Las Vegas from November 5th to 8th.
