Kia Syros (or Clavis) is more likely to be launched in India in the first half of 2025, positioned between Sonet and Seltos

Kia’s upcoming SUV, codenamed ‘Clavis’, will expand the brand’s product line-up and will be positioned slightly above the Sonet in India. The model, likely to be named “Syros” after recent trademarking, has been undergoing domestic and international testing in recent months, underscoring Kia’s commitment to the competitive SUV market.

The Kia Syros will directly compete with models like the Tata Nexon, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Hyundai Venue, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Renault Kiger, Maruti Suzuki Fronx, Nissan Magnite, Tata Punch and Hyundai Exter. Over time, a variety of powertrain options are expected to be available, which may include hybrid and electric variants.

The SUV, which is just under 4 meters long, will feature a unique upright rear with L-shaped lights integrated into the pillars, high-mounted brake lights, vertical LED accents above the bumper, a shark fin antenna and an integrated spoiler. The model draws styling inspiration from the Kia Soul and is expected to offer a roomier cabin and a larger boot than the Sonet.
