- Lamborghini uses 50 percent fewer parts than the Huracan in the aluminum spaceframe chassis.
- The number of solder joints used is also reduced by 80%.
- A custom rear engine frame is designed to support the high-revving 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine.
The Lamborghini Temerario inherits the Huracan’s shortcomings and features an all-new engine, hybrid system and significantly enhanced power and performance. As well as a completely revised body, there’s a new aluminum space frame at the heart of the car.

Unlike the Lamborghini Revuelto and its McLaren rivals, the Temerario does not use a carbon fiber monocoque. Instead, its aluminum space frame has more in common with the Huracan’s, but was developed from the ground up to support the higher power generated by the new car and hybrid powertrain.

Lamborghini chief technical officer Rouven Mohr said the new space frame has 50 percent fewer components than the Huracan’s chassis. Hot welds are also reduced by 80%. Still, the space frame’s torsional stiffness is increased by 25 percent.

The Temerario also features a custom rear engine frame. Lamborghini says it’s designed to accommodate the new 4.0-liter twin-turbo V8 engine and also help make the car stronger, improve handling and increase comfort.
The main highlight of the new supercar is obviously its powertrain. Both the Gallardo and Huracan are equipped with naturally aspirated V10 engines, but the new car’s V8 engine is custom-made and can rev all the way up to 10,000 rpm. The engine delivers 789 horsepower and 538 pound-feet (730 Nm) of torque between 9,000-9,750 rpm. As if that wasn’t enough, Lamborghini then installed three electric motors.
Two of the electric motors are located at the front, with the third located between the V8 engine and the new eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox. All told, the Temerario puts out 907 horsepower, sprints to 62 mph (100 km/h) in just 2.7 seconds, and can continue on to 213 mph (343 km/h).
U.S. pricing for the Temerario is expected to start at $357,621, not including $4,000 destination and delivery charges, making it about $24,000 more expensive than the Huracan. The first deliveries will begin next year.
