Rolls-Royce Phantom Goldfinger: exterior elements
The Phantom’s exterior features a striking yellow and black color scheme that echoes the iconic car from the film. Black 21-inch wheels with silver floating hubcaps are also inspired by the 1964 vehicle. Additionally, creatively inspired by Goldfinger’s use of the Phantom III for gold smuggling, the Lady of Ecstasy logo is embellished with 18-karat gold plating, giving it a silver-gold look. Rolls-Royce has been given the original ‘AU 1’ number plate from the film, further enhancing its authenticity and adding a unique finishing touch to this unique model.
Rolls-Royce Phantom Goldfinger: Interior
The most unique and bespoke feature of the Phantom Goldfinger is its interior, where 18-karat and 24-karat gold adorn various elements. A hidden vault located between the center console and the front seats has been specially designed to house a luminous 18-karat gold bar shaped like a miniature phantom. There are also gold details on the front and rear center console base, air vents, speaker grilles, and the interior of the glove box, which is engraved with Auric Goldfinger’s unforgettable quote: “It’s gold, Mr. Bond.” I’ve been in love with it my whole life. Its color, its splendor, its divine heaviness. The design of the pedals is modeled after the gold bars collected in the movie Goldfinger.
In addition, the starlight crest is linked to the film through a pattern of 719 stars, reflecting the constellations above the Furka Pass and emitting a soft golden light. Inlaid with 0.1mm thick 22-carat gold, the Royal Walnut picnic table displays a fictional map of Fort Knox, the backdrop for one of the film’s final scenes. After creating three prototypes, the complex design took six months to complete. To offset the gold accents, the interior features navy leather and royal walnut veneer inspired by the original design. Gold highlights are carefully integrated into the RR monogram, stitching and seat piping.
