Liverpool’s world-famous music scene continues to lead the way

Liverpool is a UNESCO City of Music and has long been recognized worldwide for its indelible contribution to a wide range of musical genres. The tradition continues as world-class artists are captured in the city’s unique historic locations.

Liverpool in 360 aims to unearth the city’s incredible and iconic musical history, showcasing a wide range of artists from across the musical spectrum performing in unusual and memorable settings.

The city’s deep-rooted musical heritage continues to inspire and resonate among a truly unique mix of artists and performance spaces. These include tech house innovator Sosa at the Oh Me Oh My rooftop garden set against the backdrop of the famous Royal Liver Building, emerging indie rockers Keyside at St George’s Hall and award-winning British new jazz creations at the Royal Albert Dock Singer Ni Maxine’s Royal Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra’s Balanced Quartet performs in the Baltic Triangle’s Camp and Forge, all proving that Liverpool’s soundscape is one of the most diverse and eclectic in the world.

Liverpool was also recently named the first Climate Action Accelerator City by the United Nations in recognition of its outstanding efforts to rapidly decarbonise the live music, TV and film production industries, which make up a large part of the city’s economy. To celebrate the event, M&S Bank Liverpool Arena will host a three-night live music series from 28 to 30 November in partnership with Massive Attack, ACT 1.5 and SJM Concerts, showcasing innovation in sustainability and collaboration with Intelligent Design for a live music event in collaboration with IDLES, Massive Attack and Nile Rodgers are ready to take the stage.

Following the successful hosting of the Eurovision Song Contest in 2023, With Taylor Swift arriving at Anfield and Tom Jones arriving at Bootle’s Salt and Tar music festival, Liverpool and the region have become a star-studded destination for up-and-coming stars Artists and world-class events.

By bringing some of our emerging artists to iconic locations in Liverpool, this initiative provides audiences with a unique, immersive way to enjoy our musical output while highlighting new talent and innovation. Liverpool is known for attracting music stars, with Anfield, Liverpool FC’s famous home, hosting superstars Taylor Swift and Pink Pink last year, while Bruce Springsteen, Billy Joel and Dua Lipa will also Performing in 2025.
