On October 4, the ServPro First Responder Softball Game will be held at CarShield Field, where local first responders will participate in a charity softball game
On October 4, the O’Fallon Hoots, a college summer baseball league team, will partner with the St. Charles County Police Department, Centre County Fire and Rescue Community Outreach and the O’Fallon Firefighters Community Outreach to host a family-friendly, community-focused event, the first annual ServPro First Responders Softball Showdown, at CarShield Field. One of the sponsors of the event is People’s National Bank (PNB).The first game is at 7:00 p.m.
“Our committee has been working hard over the past few months to plan this event, and we’re excited to finally let the community know about it,” said David Schmoll, General Manager of Hoots. “Whenever we have the opportunity, we’re all about supporting local heroes and putting on events for the community. We can’t wait to see who comes out on top in the first year!”
The ServPro First Responders Softball Showdown will feature a slow-pitch softball game between members of the St. Charles County Police Department and members of the Centre County Fire Department and O’Fallon Fire Department. The softball game will be played over nine innings.
“Charity softball events are an exciting way to work with our fellow first responders for a great cause,” said Barry Bayles, Public Information Officer for the St. Charles County Police Department. “Our goal at the SCCPD Blue Line Family Charities is to provide another level of support for all of our employees. We hope the community will join in on this fun event. ‘Branding rights’ are at stake!”
“There is often a strong camaraderie between firefighters and police officers, and they share a commitment to public safety,” explained Captain Matt Conoyer, Centre County Fire-Rescue Outreach Coordinator. “Our organizations often work with SCCPD during emergencies, and we rely on each other’s expertise. We are proud to bring that camaraderie, as well as some friendly competition, to CarShield Field for the inaugural ‘Showdown!'”
Throughout the event, fans will have the opportunity to win prizes from local companies through a special home run raffle and bid on prizes in a silent auction. We will announce more events throughout the fall as we get closer to the event.
Tickets for the inaugural event can be purchased online at ofalonhoots.com. General admission to the event is $9. Friends and Family tickets are available for groups of four or more for $10 per ticket and include event admission, a hot dog, chips and a soft drink. Suites, all-inclusive four- and six-person seating and all-you-can-eat picnic packages are available for purchase.
A portion of the proceeds from ticket sales will be donated to the St. Charles County Police Department Blue Line Families, Centre County Fire and Rescue Community Outreach, and O’Fallon Firefighters Community Outreach.
