Mahindra Auto, India’s leading SUV manufacturer, is gearing up to launch two new electric SUVs – BE 6e and XEV 9e exclusively at the ‘Unlimit India’ event in Chennai on November 26, 2024. This launch is groundbreaking for two reasons.

Firstly, this marks the first time that an Indian manufacturer has launched two electric SUVs at the same time. Secondly, Mahindra positions India as an emerging leader in the global EV industry, breaking down traditional boundaries and enhancing India’s potential in the EV revolution. Mahindra BE 6e and XEV 9e: Built for excellence

Mahindra’s BE 6e and XEV 9e are not just new models; They represent a new sub-brand called “Electric Origin SUV” with unique logos and identity. The vehicles are built on the new INGLO Electric Origin architecture, a platform that enables Mahindra to collaborate with over 250 global technology leaders to bring cutting-edge technology and world-class standards to these SUVs.

The INGLO platform enables flexibility, freeing up space for a spacious cabin, large trunks and innovative trunks. This flexibility extends to supporting a variety of body types in a variety of sizes. On this basis, Mahindra promises superior performance, with more than 250 horsepower as standard, making the BE 6e and XEV 9e the fastest SUVs developed by the Indian manufacturer. Using advanced LFP battery technology with a capacity of up to 80 kWh, it is expected to achieve class-leading cruising range.

Futuristic design and advanced features

Both BE 6e and XEV 9e have bold and futuristic looks that make them stand out in the global market. More compact and tailored for younger buyers and nuclear families, the BE 6e exudes sportiness and sophistication. The XEV 9e is larger and more imposing, appealing to those looking for a more luxurious SUV experience. Inside, Mahindra promises a feature-rich experience with a cockpit-like layout and triple-screen implementation. Advanced technologies include a lag-free human interface powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon processors, built-in 5G connectivity, a 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos, and more than 70 automatic Define Audio Sound Lachman.

Safety and technology exceed expectations

Continuing with Mahindra’s consistent safety tradition, BE 6e and XEV 9e are equipped with Level 2 ADAS consisting of 5 radars, a vision system, a 360-degree camera and 11 sensors for enhanced safety measures. Driver and occupant monitoring systems using on-board cameras add extra safety and convenience. Structural and battery safety standards are expected to meet or exceed current benchmarks, reinforcing Mahindra’s reputation for prioritizing protection.

Mahindra’s Electric Origin SUV offers technology usually reserved for luxury cars priced between Rs 60 lakh and Rs 1 crore. Bringing these premium features into more accessible segments underscores Mahindra’s vision of democratizing advanced technology to a wider audience.
