
Mahindra BE 6e and XEV 9e will usher in a new era of Mahindra in the form of a “quiet” revolution, full of expectations
After a series of concept shows, trailers and design sketches, it’s almost time Mahindra launched Mahindra’s new Electric Origin SUV BE 6e and XEV 9e on November 26, 2024 at UNLIMIT INDIA. Ahead of the launch, Mahindra revealed some interesting details. Here’s our guide to what to expect from the Mahindra electric SUV:
futuristic design
The good news is that the production designs of the Mahindra BE 6e and XEV 9e are very close to their concept counterparts, which suggests an aggressive future theme. Both SUVs get recessed door handles, Aggressive cuts and creases, aerodynamically optimized alloy wheels and Glowing sign. oxygenof BE 6e,a The deeply recessed hood is a key highlight, while the XEV 9e looks more muscular and has a sloping roofline.
High technical content
Like the exterior, the cabin also has hints of a futuristic theme Contrasting accents, and lots of digital space. BE 6e adopts a dual-screen layout, while The XEV 9e will feature a three-screen layout, including a passenger display. That’s not all The new human-machine interface is easy to use, built-in 5G connectivity and a digital screen powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon chipset focus on speed.
In addition to all the premium features of the XUV700 that we already know about, other key features include a premium 16-speaker Harman/Kardon sound system with Dolby Atmos technology. The in-cabin audio features over 70 custom sounds, created by AR Rahman.
ADAS is quite advanced in both eSUVs, with more than Level 2 assistance, aided by five radars, a 360-degree camera and 11 sensors. Even driver and occupant monitoring systems will be aided by on-board cameras.
Flexible INGLO Electric Origin architecture
Mahindra BE 6e and XEV 9e make debut for the brand New INGLO Electric Origin Architecture Lightweight flat-bottom skateboard construction supports a variety of body shapes and maximizes space and aids driving dynamics. With this architecture, the two eSUVs will get 59 kWh and 79 kWh battery pack options, aiming to cover long distances on a single charge. As for charging, it has fast charging capabilities, charging from 20 to 80 percent in just 20 minutes via a 175 kW DC charger.
Another cool thing to note about the INGLO platform is that these eSUVs are probably the fastest ever from an Indian OEM. What we mean is that the powertrain, which consists of an integrated electric motor, inverter and gearbox, is capable of producing between 231 hp and 286 hp for rear-wheel drive models alone. Therefore, one can expect better performance from the all-wheel drive model.
While it remains to be seen how Mahindra’s new Electric Origin SUVs BE 6e and XEV 9e will fare once launched, one thing is for sure, these two eSUVs are likely to redefine the SUV ICE and EV standards as we know them.
