Mahindra brings SUV prices up to 3% from April

Mahindra raises SUV and commercial vehicle prices by 3% starting in April

Mahindra announced that a range of sporty cars and commercial vehicles will be effective from April 2025 will be priced at up to 3%. Price revisions will affect popular models like the Thar, Scorpio, and XUV700.

The company takes increasing investment and commodity costs as key factors in its decision. The extent of price increases will vary based on specific models and variants.

The move is in line with a broader trend in the automotive industry as several manufacturers have begun adjusting prices to offset the rise in production spending.

Earlier this week, Hyundai also confirmed that prices in the entire portfolio will be as high as 3% from next month. Similarly, Maruti Suzuki announced a 4% increase from April 1, the third price revision this year after its previous adjustments in January and February.

Tata Motors also joined the list, with plans to increase the price of its commercial vehicle by 2% from April, citing higher inputs and raw material costs.

In the advanced sector, Mercedes-Benz India is reportedly considering another round of price adjustments in April. The decision will depend on currency volatility, especially the performance of the rupee against the euro. The luxury car maker has raised prices earlier this year and expects a slight sales outlook in the coming quarters.

As automakers cope with inflationary pressures, consumers may continue to see price revisions in various segments in the coming months.
