Mahindra defeated Tata in January 2025 to become No. 3 automakers

Mahindra’s domestic sales are 50,659 units, marking an increase of 18 % in India in January 2025

Mahindra & Mahindra reported that the total car sales in January 2025 were 85,432 units, including exports, an increase of 16 %. In the field of multi -functional vehicles, the company’s domestic sales were 50,659 units, marking 18 % of growth. When the export is considered export, the total sales of public vehicles reached 52,306 units.

Although Hyundai and Tata recorded the decline in domestic sales in the first month of the new calendar year, Mahindra’s volume increased by 18 %. This caused Mahindra to defeat TATA through nearly 2600 vehicles and increase the sales shot list to third place. In January 2025, Tata’s PV sales were 48,316.

Compared with the same time of the previous year, this has led to an increase of 11 %. Tata’s domestic passenger car sales include electric models, which were 48,076 units last month, reflecting a decrease of 10 % from the 53,633 unit in the same month last year. The sales of the international market have also decreased significantly by 40 %, from 400 units in January 2024 to 240 units this year.

Tata’s electric vehicle sales include domestic and international markets, which have also declined.
