Compared to the BE.05 on which it is based, the Mahindra Rally EV (BE.Rall-E) has more personality than just off-road appeal
Mahindra & Mahindra is on an exciting journey with its ambition to become a major electric car manufacturer. The company has planned to launch several models by 2025, including Mahindra’s electric rally car BE.Rall-E. As can be seen from the test car, it looks wild and suitable for off-roading. Let’s take a look.
Mahindra Electric Rally
Mahindra showcased the BE.Rall-E concept car in the presence of Bollywood actors Vicky Kaushal and Disha Patani in February 2023. The car is wild and wild, infused with an off-road-ready style that distinguishes it from other upcoming Mahindra vehicles XUV.e and BE series that are based on the INGLO platform.
The Mahindra Rally EV (BE.Rall-E) is a more hardcore and off-road version of the BE.05 compact electric SUV, which has been undergoing extensive testing for a long time. The BE.05 will be one of the first three cars to be launched by Mahindra based on the INGLO platform, along with the XUV.e8 and XUV.e9. The BE.Rall-E is already being tested and could be launched in 2025, as suggested by the Mahindra website.
When the first spy photos of the BE.Rall-E were leaked, initial speculation was that it would be a base version of the BE.05, which does exist and has been spied testing, with lower levels of equipment. This speculation was based on the fact that the BE.Rall-E was shown in concept form and was too crazy to be launched.
But Mahindra thinks otherwise and may consider launching the BE.Rall-E in India in 2025. Mahindra lists the BE.Rall-E on its website under the ‘Products’ section along with the BE.05, BE.07, XUV.e8 and XUV.e9. While the BE.09 and Thar.e are still listed under the ‘Concepts’ section.
Mahindra positions the BE.Rall-E in the “product” segment, and the spy shots of the test vehicle seem to fit that perfectly, indicating that the company may launch the vehicle in 2025. The company calls the BE.Rall-E the “Electric Trailblazer.” There is no more appropriate title than this, as the BE.Rall-E looks to be designed for off-roading.
what happens?
Judging from the test car, it seems that Mahindra has held back and equipped the BE.Rall-E with the same equipment as when it was shown on the stage last year. As such, it has unique panels than the BE.05 it is based on. It comes with a luggage rack on the roof and the suspension travel is long. The test car has smaller H/T tires, but there is room for larger M/T tires as well.
While the BE.05 had huge C-shaped LED signatures at the front and rear, the BE.Rall-E takes a more subtle approach to its lighting elements. It will likely get increased ground clearance as well as beefier bash plates. Since it is more off-road focused, we expect it to come with a dual-motor AWD setup as standard.
Based on the INGLO platform, the car is likely to feature a battery of around 60 kWh and a range of nearly 500 km on a single charge. Inside, it will be almost identical to the BE.05 and feature a cockpit-like split dashboard layout at the front. As the Mahindra website suggests, the car is likely to be launched in 2025.
