Mahindra Thar Roxx arrives at dealerships

The test drive of Thar Roxx will start on September 14 while the official booking will start on October 3

Last month, Mahindra launched the 5-door Thar Roxx at a starting price of Rs 12.99 lakh. It will compete with rivals like the Maruti Jimny and the 5-door Force Gurkha as well as mainstream SUVs in the Rs 12.5 lakh and above segment. Ahead of the test drives, the Thar Roxx has started arriving at dealerships.

The show car of the Roxx will be available at dealerships soon. Those who might be interested in the Thar Roxx can contact their preferred Mahindra dealer to experience ‘THE SUV’ first-hand. It is worth noting that Mahindra has only announced the prices of the RWD model. The prices of the 4×4 model are likely to be announced on the day when the official bookings start. Until then, users can test drive it from September 14 onwards.

The Thar Roxx is one of the most awaited cars in India this year. Considering its powerful design and premium equipment, the Roxx lives up to the expectations of most enthusiasts. This SUV has a striking exterior that easily grabs attention. Some of the key features include a bold new grille, attractive lighting elements, wide fenders, prominent bumpers, and the signature locked hood.

The Thar Roxx is 4,428 mm long and 1,923 mm tall, making it larger than the popular compact SUV. The larger dimensions ensure a spacious interior. This could be another reason why many choose the Roxx over compact SUVs. The Roxx has sturdy running boards and sporty diamond-cut alloys. The top-of-the-line model will come with R19 alloys, ensuring a tough presence on the road.

To ensure that it can cater to a wider range of users, the Mahindra Roxx is equipped with comprehensive features. The Roxx offers the best of both worlds, with the comfort and convenience of a standard family SUV, but with the ability to conquer treacherous terrains. Some of the key highlights include a panoramic sunroof, dual 26.03 screens for the instrument and digital cluster, and a Harman Kardon premium sound system.

As shown in the video by MRD Cars, users can expect a premium experience with features like ventilated front seats, leatherette-wrapped dashboard and door trims, a cooled glove box, fully automatic temperature control, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, and power-folding ORVMs.

Roxx has first-in-class features like SmartCrawl and Intelliturn. These features are only available on the 4×4 model. Talking about safety, Roxx has Level 2 ADAS, Automatic Emergency Braking, Front Camera, Electronic Parking Brake with Auto Hold, Blind Spot Detection, 360° Surround View Monitor and Obstacle View. Roxx is expected to get the highest rating in NCAP crash tests.

Thar Roxx Powertrain Options

The Roxx is available with two engine options: a 2.0-litre turbo petrol and a 2.2-litre diesel. The petrol engine is available in two power outputs: 162 PS and 330 Nm and 177 PS and 380 Nm. The diesel engine is available in two configurations: 152 PS / 330 Nm and 175 PS / 370 Nm. Both engines are available with a choice of 6-speed manual and 6-speed torque converter automatic transmissions.
