Mahindra has released another image of the Thar Roxx, showcasing its striking colours. The upcoming 5-door model seems to come in the same Everest White colour scheme as the 3-door model, along with the well-known black paint option. While Mahindra has not announced anything yet, other colour options for this SUV could include Deep Forest, Tango Red, Nebula Blue and Burnt Slenna.
For those who are unaware, the new Thar will go on sale on Independence Day (August 15) and it gets a host of cosmetic enhancements including a redesigned 6-slat grille, upgraded LED headlamps (with C-shaped daytime running lights), black door handles, dual-tone alloy wheels and LED tail lamps. It will get dual-tone interiors with soft leatherette finish on the dashboard. Read on to know more updates about this SUV.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Powertrain
The 5-door model will be offered with three engine options: a 2.0-litre turbocharged petrol, a 2.2-litre diesel and a new 1.5-litre diesel. These engines will be mated to a 6-speed manual or automatic gearbox. Like its 3-door counterpart, the Thar Roxx is likely to be offered with both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive options.
Mahindra Thar Roxx: Features
The Mahindra SUV will come with a panoramic sunroof, automatic air conditioning, a Harman Kardon sound system, a fully digital instrument cluster and a large touchscreen infotainment system similar to the XUV 3XO with wireless Android Auto/Apple CarPlay. It is also expected to include manual day/night IRVM, dual-zone climate control, a tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), a 360-degree camera, electronic stability control (ESC), hill hold and descent control, and Level 2 ADAS with features like lane keep assist and adaptive cruise control.

Mahindra Thar Roxx: Price and Rivals
The existing Thar is priced between Rs 11.35 lakh and Rs 17.6 lakh in India. The new 5-door model has several upgrades over its sister model and is expected to start at Rs 15 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom. It will compete with the Force Gurkha 5-door and Maruti Suzuki and serve as an alternative to the Skoda Kushaq, Kia Seltos, Hyundai Creta and MG Astor.
