Mahindra is developing an electric car based on the XUV700, which is expected to be called “XEV 7e” according to the latest trademark filing. The production version of the electric car has been leaked online, showing off its exterior and interior. As shown, the new XEV 7e has a traditional SUV shape, as opposed to the XEV 9e’s more coupe-like appearance. It uses a split headlight design with an inverted L-shaped connected LED daytime running light, similar to the XEV 9e. One notable difference, however, is that unlike the XEV 9e, the XUV700-based electric SUV includes a third row of seats.
The XEV 7e also features a blackout grille, slim LED light bars, sturdy new skid plates, contrasting ORVMs (outside rear view mirrors), recessed door handles and new dual-tone alloy wheels, all of which contribute to the vehicle’s premium, Modern look.
Mahindra XEV 7e: Interiors and features
The interior of the XEV 7e looks similar to the Mahindra XEV 9e, with a stylish black and white dual-tone theme. The center console is decorated in piano black, giving it a high-end feel. The dashboard is dominated by an eye-catching triple-screen configuration, which may include a 12.3-inch display for the driver’s instrument panel, infotainment system and passenger display.

Additionally, the car features a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated “Infinity” logo. Other highlights include a panoramic sunroof, electrically adjustable ventilated front seats with memory function, multi-zone climate control and a high-quality sound system.
Mahindra XEV 7e: Powertrain
Although Mahindra is yet to share powertrain specifications, the XEV 7e is expected to offer the same battery options as the XEV 9e, including (59kWh and 79kWh), both with a single electric motor. Additionally, Mahindra is likely to offer an all-wheel drive (AWD) version of the XEV 7e.

Mahindra XEV 7e: expected price
Although it’s too early to comment, the Mahindra XEV 7e is likely to be priced around Rs 20.90 lakh (ex-showroom). It will face stiff competition from the upcoming Tata Safari EV.
