Mahindra XEV 7e production version design leaked ahead of official debut
Mahindra XEV 7e is a new electric SUV based on the INGLO platform and will join Mahindra’s growing lineup of electric vehicles. Positioned as the electric vehicle counterpart to the popular XUV700, the XEV 7e will feature a three-row seating configuration and is expected to be available in mid-2025.
Trademark and platform details
The XEV 7e name is yet to be officially confirmed but it has been trademarked by Mahindra along with the XEV 9e and BE 6e. The models also share the INGLO platform, which underpins Mahindra’s next-generation electric vehicles. The platform offers modularity and advanced features that contribute to each model’s unique characteristics.
Leaked Design Highlights
Leaked images of production specs reveal that the XEV 7e adopts a more traditional design approach compared to its platform siblings, the XEV 9e and BE 6e. While retaining the electric SUV’s unique identity, it is very similar to the XUV700 in several aspects, making it a practical choice for buyers looking for an electric alternative to the popular ICE SUV.

The front fascia of the XEV 7e draws inspiration from the XEV 9e, with unique headlights, a closed grille and a redesigned front bumper. The side profile is similar to the XUV700, while the rear shows off subtle EV-specific design elements. The alloy wheels adopt a similar aerodynamic design as the XEV 9e.
internal
Inside, the XEV 7e’s cabin is similar to the XEV 9e’s, with a three-screen setup and a two-spoke steering wheel with an illuminated logo. A standout feature is the captain’s chairs for second-row passengers, ensuring comfort and plenty of headroom, thanks to a more traditional roofline compared to a coupe-SUV.
Powertrain expectations
Although Mahindra is yet to reveal details about the XEV 7e’s powertrain, it is expected to share its battery and motor setup with the XEV 9e. This could mean competitive range and performance figures, in line with Mahindra’s strategy of delivering powerful and reliable electric vehicles.
market positioning
As a three-row electric SUV, the XEV 7e is designed to cater to families and large groups, bridging the gap between radical design and everyday usability. Its practical interior layout and familiar exterior styling may appeal to buyers who value EV comfort and functionality.
More information on XEV 7e specifications and pricing is expected to be announced closer to launch. With the INGLO platform as the basis for its latest electric vehicle products, Mahindra continues to strengthen its position in the electric vehicle segment.
