Mahindra will launch two new electric SUVs at the ‘Unlimit India’ event in Chennai on November 26. Based on the company’s new INGLO architecture, two upcoming pure electric SUVs (9e and 6e) will be sold through two new sub-brands, XEV and BE. Although the specific details of the SUV have not been disclosed, the modular electric skateboard platform INGLO will use Volkswagen MEB components and be used to manufacture SUVs ranging from 4,368 mm to 4,735 mm. According to Mahindra, the platform will deliver “intuitive, smart and immersive innovation”, ensuring “best-in-class” safety standards, “exciting performance” and “impressive range”.

Mahindra XEV 9e, BE 6e: What to expect?
The Mahindra XEV 9e will be a fully electric luxury coupe SUV, while the BE 6e will be a fully electric SUV offering “bold sporting performance”. Mahindra has not yet revealed details of the battery and power system; however, it is known that Mahindra’s self-produced INGLO skateboard platform supports 60kWh and 80kWh battery packs, with a fast charging capacity of up to 175kW and a comprehensive cruising range of up to 500 kilometers. Additionally, the architecture is available in rear-wheel drive (RWD) and all-wheel drive (AWD) configurations.
We expect the Mahindra XEV 9e to be offered in a single RWD setup, while the BE 6e will be available in both RWD and AWD configurations. The latter will be positioned higher than the XUV400 EV and compete with the Tata Curvv EV, MG Windsor EV and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki eVX. Upon arrival, it will likely measure 4,370 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width and 1,635 mm in height. The wheelbase reaches 2,775 mm. The interior should include dual integrated monitors, a large insert on the center console, and electrically adjustable front seats.
For the XEV 9e, Mahindra’s coupe-SUV is likely to come with three screens (10.25-inch touchscreen for the front passenger and two 10.25-inch horizontal displays), two-spoke steering wheel, drive mode selector lever, power seats and semi-leatherette seats interior. The vehicle may also feature a fully digital instrument panel, dual-zone climate control, panoramic sunroof, and ambient lighting. For safety, there’s likely to be six airbags (standard), adaptive cruise control, a tire pressure monitoring system and lane-keep assist.
