Mahindra XEV 9e, BE 6e final models: first appearance

Mahindra & Mahindra has released another teaser of the production-ready XEV 9e and BE 6e electric SUVs ahead of their world premiere on November 26, 2024. While the Mahindra XEV 9e will be a coupe SUV to challenge the Tata Curvv EV, the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV, Maruti e-Vitara, Mahindra BE 6e will be the answer to the upcoming Tata Harrier EV and Safari EV. Both SUVs remain true to the concepts shown on August 15 last year.

The upcoming Mahindra XEV 9e features a wide closed grille, LED projector headlamps with LED DRLs, illuminated signature badging, LED light strip and a raised bonnet at the front. It also features pronounced wheel arches, sculpted body panels, a sleek roofline and pop-up flush door handles. On the inside, the electric SUV has a triple-screen setup – a digital driver display, a touchscreen infotainment unit and a passenger display. The teaser also shows off a two-spoke steering wheel.

Mahindra BE 6e features an aggressive-looking front fascia with a wide grille, LED projector headlights with vertical light signature and illuminated Mahindra logo. The electric SUV also includes flush door handles, gloss black cladding on the prominent wheel arches and aerodynamically designed alloy wheels. Both the electric SUVs will come with panoramic sunroof, wireless mobile phone charger, premium audio system, ventilated and power seats, multi-zone air conditioning, multiple regeneration modes, V2L (vehicle to load) functionality, 360-degree cameras, six safety Airbags and Level 2 ADAS technology.

These will be Mahindra’s first fully electric SUVs and are based on its new INGLO modular platform, which can accommodate different wheelbases, lengths, widths and overhangs. The carmaker has confirmed that its upcoming all-electric SUV will feature a battery pack with a capacity of 60kWh to 80kWh, using lithium iron phosphate (LFP) cells. In addition, the upcoming Mahindra electric SUV will support 175kW fast charging, which can charge 80% in just 30 minutes. Powertrain options will include a 170kW rear electric motor and a 250kW dual-motor AWD (all-wheel drive) setup.

Mahindra Electric SUV – Expected Features

The Mahindra INGLO platform also includes a semi-active suspension system and brake-by-wire technology. The Mahindra all-electric SUV is expected to come with features like three integrated high-performance computers, embedded 5G technology, dual octa-core processors for HD resolution displays, augmented reality (AR)-based head-up display, and more. HUD) and Level 2 ADAS suite based on 5 radar systems.
