Mahindra XEV 9e launched at Rs 2.19 million (Chennai, India)

In the Indian automobile market, Mahindra has become the top brand of large SUVs. After the Alturas G4, Mahindra has not really tried an SUV priced higher than the XUV700. That changed with the launch of the XEV 9e, one of the first Electric Origin SUVs launched by Mahindra alongside the BE 6e.

With the XEV 9e, Mahindra has established a foothold in the coupe-SUV segment with a larger size than other mainstream brands. Size is the Mahindra XEV 9e’s biggest ally, giving it a boastful appeal. Although the XEV 9e is sporty and raw for the road, there is also a refined air that makes it a unique offering on the market.

The XEV 9e is the more premium version of the Electric Origin SUV launched by Mahindra. It’s also a larger vehicle and comes with a bigger battery. Prices for the XEV 9e start at Rs 21.90 lakh (Ex-sh, Chennai). Chennai OTR is up to Rs 23.59 Lakh (estimated). Deliveries will begin next quarter. Adopting Mahindra’s new Heartcore design language, the XEV 9e adopts a coupe-SUV shape similar to the BE 6e, but is more elegant and appeals to more mature buyers and those with a sense of achievement.

The XEV 9e’s striking external features are its massive size and clear road presence. It features connected LED daytime running lights, vertically aligned LED headlights, large aerodynamic alloy wheels, a stunning coupe silhouette and a dominant rear end.
