Anticipation is building for the Mahindra XUV 3XO EV as recent spy shots have provided a glimpse at the upcoming electric SUV. While the vehicle is still mostly camouflaged, some key design elements and features have been revealed.
Design and appearance highlights
Spy photos show that the XUV 3XO EV will feature striking C-shaped LED daytime running lights as well as part of the front grille. These elements are expected to differentiate the electric model from the internal combustion engine (ICE) model. The XUV 3XO EV may include some subtle design changes such as redesigned bumpers and a revised grille. Unique badges will also appear to indicate its electric nature. In addition, the SUV will feature new alloy wheels that may include plastic inserts designed to improve aerodynamic efficiency and overall performance.
Positioning and sizing
The XUV 3XO EV will be positioned below the XUV400 in Mahindra’s electric vehicle range. Positioned in the sub-4-meter category, the XUV 3XO EV will be similar in size to its ICE version, being about 200 mm shorter in length than the XUV400. The reduction in size will also result in slightly less luggage space compared to its larger sibling, the XUV400.
Specs and Prices
Under the hood, the XUV 3XO EV is expected to come with a 35 kWh battery, which is smaller compared to the 40 kWh battery in the XUV400 EV. While specific details on the range and motor performance are still to be revealed, the XUV 3XO EV is expected to be priced more affordable than the XUV400. It is expected to be priced around Rs 2 lakh lower than the XUV400, which is priced between Rs 15.49 lakh and Rs 19.39 lakh. In comparison, the Tata Nexon EV is priced between Rs 14.49 lakh and Rs 19.49 lakh.
While we wait for more details, the XUV 3XO EV is expected to attract interest with its competitive pricing and practical features in the compact electric SUV segment.
