Mahindra plans to expand its electric vehicle portfolio with a slew of models in India, including the XUV.e8, the electric version of the ICE-powered XUV700. However, ahead of the launch of the much-anticipated model, the interiors of the car have been revealed, showcasing some noteworthy features like a large three-screen setup. As shown in the picture, the three-screen arrangement is a unit that stretches across the dashboard. It includes a front passenger display, a touchscreen infotainment system, and a fully digital color instrument panel. The SUV is also expected to feature a Nexon-like two-spoke steering wheel and a typical automatic gear knob for selecting the driving mode. While Mahindra has not announced anything yet, industry rumours suggest that the XUV700-based electric SUV will be launched by the end of this year and is expected to be priced at Rs 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom). Let’s take a look at the other possible features of the model.

According to the design patent, the production version of the SUV will share many features with the concept car, such as the inverted L-shaped LED projector headlights and the LED light bar that spans the width of the car. The SUV is also expected to feature flush door handles, new alloy wheels and curved LED taillights.
The XUV.e8 will be similar to the XUV700, with a one-row configuration. However, in terms of dimensions, the electric SUV will be 4,740 mm in length, 1,900 mm in width and 1,760 mm in height, which is about 45 mm longer, 10 mm wider and 5 mm taller than its ICE sibling.
While Mahindra has not revealed anything yet, the upcoming electric XUV700 is likely to come with an 80kWh battery pack, an all-wheel drive system, and a dual-motor setup. The power range is likely to be between 230bhp and 345bhp. The SUV is expected to have a range of between 450 and 500 kms.

Last month, Mahindra’s other upcoming electric car, the BE.05, was spotted testing with a large glass roof. The electric SUV is expected to retain the design features of the concept car, including the C-shaped LED daytime running lights. It is also likely to feature flush door handles, large aero wheels, low-profile tires, all-four disc brakes, and a racing-style double spoiler. Similar to the XUV.e8, the BE.05 will be underpinned by the company’s new EV-specific INGLO platform.
