Mahindra & Mahindra has an aggressive electric vehicle strategy for the Indian market. The local automaker recently unveiled two new electric SUVs that will be ready for mass production – XEV 9e and It’s 6e. So far, the automaker has revealed the specifications, features, and starting prices of the two electric vehicles. Full pricing will be revealed during the public launch at the Bharat Mobile Expo 2025 in January. After these two electric vehicles, Mahindra’s next all-electric SUV will be the XEV 7e (Mahindra XUV700 Electric), which was recently trademarked in the country.

Mahindra XEV 7e is essentially the electric version of the XUV700 SUV. Leaked images of the electric car reveal its interior and design details. Its front face is similar to the XEV 9e, with a black grille, triangular LED headlights with integrated LED DRLs, new skid plate, LED light bar and contrasting ORVMs. It also features recessed door handles and new alloy wheels.

The interior layout and features are also borrowed from the XEV 9e. The Mahindra XEV 7e comes with a triple-screen setup – one for the infotainment system, one for the driver display and one for the front passenger. Other features include a two-spoke steering wheel, power front seats with memory function, panoramic sunroof, 16-speaker Harman Kardon sound system, VisionX HUD, electronic parking brake, driving modes, level 2 ADAS and TPMS.
Mahindra XUV700 electric powertrain
The powertrain details of the new Mahindra XEV 7e are not yet known. However, it is expected to come with 59kWh and 79kWh battery packs as well as a standard single motor. The maximum driving range on a single charge is expected to be approximately 500 kilometers. Unlike its donor sibling, the XEV 7e will likely come with an all-wheel drive drivetrain from launch. The leaked images also confirm that the SUV has towing modes, including a “Snow” mode for off-road adventures.
Estimated price
The starting price of the Mahindra XUV700 electric car is expected to be around Rs 20 lakh, with the top-end variant going up to Rs 28 lakh. Its ICE variant is currently priced in the price range of Rs 13.99 lakh to Rs 24.99 lakh (all, ex-showroom).
