Mahindra’s newly launched electric SUV, the XEV 9E and 6, achieved a significant milestone by ensuring a day-one reservation of Rs 84,72 crore. The company reported a total of 30,179 units booked.
Booking segments and customer preferences
XEV 9E accounts for 56% of bookings, while 6 accounts for the remaining 44%. It is worth noting that 73% of customers chose the Three Models of The Top-tier Pack, which has a 79 kWh battery pack. This trend suggests a strong tendency for consumers toward high-end models with advanced features and extended range capabilities.

Delivery timetable
Mahindra plans to start deliveries in stages starting in three versions starting in mid-2025. Subsequent variants, including the second pack and Package No. 1, are scheduled to be delivered between June and August 2025. The company is committed to providing a transparent delivery process, with customers receiving a tentative schedule over the next three weeks.
Vehicle specifications
Both the XEV 9E and 6 are built on Mahindra’s Inglo platform and are available in two battery options: 59 kWh and 79 kWh packages. The 79 kWh variant single charge provides a range of up to 682 km. In terms of performance, these electric SUVs can accelerate from 0 km/h to 100 km/h in about 6.7 seconds. Charging features include support for 175 kW DC fast charging, which can charge 20-80% in just 20 minutes.
Interior and features
The XEV 9E has a spacious interior with 665-liter boots and a 150-liter front torso. It features a unique three-screen setup, each with 12.3 inches running Mahindra’s Adrenox software. Other amenities include a panoramic sunroof, a 1,400W 16-speaker Harman Kardon system with Dolby Atmos, and an Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) that provides Level 2 Autonomy.
On the other hand, the BE 6 offers a dual integrated screen setup that combines two 12.3-inch displays to display infotainment and instrumentation. It also includes features like multi-zone AC, dual wireless phone charger, and a fixed glass roof with ambient lighting pattern. Up to seven airbags and Level 2 ADAS technology enhances safety.
