With the security upgrade, the Maruti Alto K10 is now priced in the price range of Rs 4.23 crore to Rs 6.21 lakh
India’s largest automaker, Maruti Suzuki, is providing users with a safer journey. In February, Celerio and Brezza became standard features for 6 airbags. And now, the Alto K10, the most affordable car in India, has also given the same update. Let’s take a look at the mutated price increase for the Alto K10.
Alto K10 with 6 roll bags – New price
With the security upgrade, Maruti also modified the variant name of the Alto K10. The suffix there has been completely removed. The price of the basic “standard” variant has risen by Rs 14,000. The new price is Rs 4.23 lakh, while it is earlier than Rs 4.09 lakh. Next is LXI, whose price has risen by Rs 6,000. The price is now at Rs 5 lakh, and earlier than Rs 4.94 lakh.

Next is VXI AMT, which has increased its cost by Rs 16,000. Now, it is priced at Rs 5.81 lakh, and earlier than Rs 5.65 lakh.

Alto K10 also gets three-point seat belt
In addition to the 6-roll bag standard, the Maruti Alto K10 also provides 3-point seat belts for rear passengers. Safety features already offered by the Alto K10 include Electronic Stability Plan (ESP), reverse parking sensors, ABS with EBD and a foldable steering column. The hatch also features rear door sub-locks, engine holders, high-speed alarms, front seat belt premonition and force limiters, seat belt reminders with buzzer, headlight upgrades and overhead blanks.
Enhanced NCAP score?
With its security upgrades, the Alto K10 now offers greater overall value to consumers. This is very important for cars that sell thousands of units per month. According to Maruti, more than 4.6 million alto units have been sold since their launch in 2000. In January 2025, Alto sold 11,352 units, contributing 6.54% to the company’s overall sales this month.

By adding new security features, the Alto K10 may see better ratings in the NCAP crash test. The model tested by Global NCAP in 2023 has received a 2-star rating of Adult Safety and 0 ratings. It has two airbags, belt premonitor, belt load limiter and belt reminder. Similar to mature global markets, NCAP ratings have now become an important part of the decision-making process of Indian consumers.
