The Maruti Suzuki e-Vitara is essentially the production version of the eVX concept car, which recently made its global debut through official images. This naturally electric mid-size SUV will be publicly showcased in January 2025 at the Bharat Mobile Expo. However, its launch may be in March 2025. The Maruti e-Vitara will be the first electric car launched in India by the Indo-Japanese carmaker. India and will be launched alongside the MG ZS EV, Tata Curvv EV and the upcoming Mahindra BE 6 and Hyundai Creta electric car.
Two battery options!
Although Maruti Suzuki is yet to reveal the exact range, the e-Vitara is expected to have a range of over 500 kilometers on a full charge. The larger battery pack can also be paired with the AllGrip-e AWD system, which only comes with dual-motor models. This all-wheel drive version will include an off-road mode for off-road capabilities.

The interior of the new Maruti e-Vitara is completely different from other Maruti Suzuki models currently sold in India. It features a floating dual-screen setup (one for infotainment and another for instrumentation) and a new operating system. The cabin includes a floating center console with a gloss black finish, two USB ports, a two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel, a rotary drive mode selector, rectangular air-conditioning vents with brushed silver bezels and a steering wheel with automatic braking Functional electronic parking brake. Remain functional. The seats feature a combination of fabric and leatherette upholstery.
The e-Vitara comes packed with features, including single-zone automatic climate control, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay compatibility, wireless phone charger and more. Additionally, it could become the first Maruti Suzuki car in India to come with ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) suite. ADAS features may include lane-keep assist and adaptive cruise control. On the safety front, the electric SUV offers side and curtain airbags, Isofix child seat mounts, adjustable head restraints and three-point seat belts for all passengers.
How big is it?
Design-wise, the new Maruti e-Vitara is very similar to the eVX concept, albeit with some understated elements. The AWD version comes with 19-inch alloy wheels shod in 225/50 R19 tyres, while the base version comes with 18-inch alloy wheels. The new Maruti electric SUV measures 4,275 mm in length, 1,800 mm in width and 1,635 mm in height. Its wheelbase is 2,700 mm long and its ground clearance is 180 mm. The SUV’s curb weight ranges from 1,702kg to 1,899kg, depending on the variant.
price expectations
Maruti Suzuki’s manufacturing plant in Gujarat will serve as the production hub for the e-Vitara, with nearly 50% of the total production being earmarked for export to Japan and Europe. The new Maruti electric SUV is expected to start at around Rs 20 lakh for the base variant, with the fully loaded range-topping variant (with 61kWh battery, dual motors and e-AllGrip AWD) priced close to Rs 25 lakh.
