Maruti Jimny Expedition concept unveiled at Auto Expo 2025

Maruti Jimny Conqueror Edition

At the 2025 Auto Expo, Maruti Suzuki showcased a concept car based on the Jimny with more off-road value. Dubbed the Jimny Expedition Concept, the concept comes with a variety of accessories to enhance its off-road capabilities and comes in a rather eye-catching two-tone Desert Matte and Matte Black theme.

One look at the Maruti Jimny Expedition Concept and its intended purpose is obvious. It was imagined to have a majestic appearance and huge road presence. It’s certainly much better than the standard Jimny. It is also indestructible, making it a perfect fit for a lifestyle adventure SUV.

To change up its appearance, we get a two-tone color scheme on the exterior, with a Desert Matte hue at the front and a Matte Black hue at the rear and roof. At the front we now see the classic grille with SUZUKI lettering. This grille alone is likely to significantly boost the sales potential of the standard Jimny sold in India. This is its aura.

The round LED projector headlights are retained, along with halogen indicator lights and fog lights. But the bumper is significantly strengthened and there’s even a crash bar where we can see the electric winch. On the right side of the windshield of the Jimny Expedition concept, we can see a snorkel that improves water wading capabilities.

Greater off-road capability

On the side, we can see a decal with Jimny 4X4 written diagonally. The wheels look the same as the 15-inch wheels on the standard model, but come in a desert matte hue. It is worth noting that the all-terrain tires equipped on the concept car are significantly better in off-road situations than the H/L tires of the standard model.

If those all-terrain tires weren’t enough to get out of trouble, the Jimny Expedition concept also gets a sand track. They are body-colored and located on new cross-bar-style roof rails. On the left rear quarter glass, we can see a fuel drum that holds about 10 to 15 liters of gasoline, which should be handy when off-roading.

The rear spare tire is finished in a desert matte tone and provides a docking location for a handy shovel. There’s also a metal ladder at the rear that appears to be mounted directly to the car’s ladder frame chassis.

Under the hood, the Maruti Jimny Conqueror Concept is likely to be powered by the same 1.5L 4-cylinder naturally aspirated petrol engine capable of producing around 105 PS of peak power and 134.2 Nm of peak torque, mated to either a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed torque converter automatic transmission option. There is no confirmation yet that the Maruti Jimny Expedition concept will be launched soon.
