Maruti Suzuki will enter the electric vehicle market with the launch of its first all-electric SUV e Vitara. The product is slated to be launched tomorrow at the Bharat Mobile Global Expo 2025. The e Vitara has been developed in partnership with Toyota on the ‘Heartect-e platform’ and is aimed at mass-market EV buyers. The e-Vitara is expected to offer multiple battery pack options and potential all-wheel drive.
Teaser images reveal key design elements of the e Vitara. It features triple-slash LED daytime running lights with a prominent ‘Maruti Suzuki’ logo in the centre. The design includes a sculpted bonnet and bold bumpers.

Although the complete silhouette and tail design have not yet been announced, the official will reveal all the details tomorrow. Globally, the e Vitara is expected to come with 18-inch alloy wheels, C-pillar-mounted door handles, wheel arch cladding, roof spoiler, shark fin antenna, beefy rear bumper and light-bar-style taillights.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Features
The India-only e Vitara is expected to offer dual-tone interiors with the dashboard centered around an integrated screen for the instrument cluster and infotainment system. It may also get a two-spoke flat-bottom steering wheel and updated AC vents, adding to its functionality and design.
The SUV is likely to come with features like a panoramic sunroof, automatic climate control, ventilated front seats and six airbags. Other highlights are likely to include a 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake with auto-hold function, and Level 2 ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) with a focus on improving safety and comfort for Indian buyers.
Maruti Suzuki e Vitara: Powertrain
e Vitara will be built on a new skateboard platform developed in partnership with Toyota. Internationally, the electric SUV is available with two battery options: a 49kWh battery pack for two-wheel drive and a 61kWh battery pack that can be paired with two-wheel or four-wheel drive. The specific configuration for the Indian market has yet to be revealed, but it has been confirmed that the e-Vitara will have a cruising range of more than 500 kilometers on a single charge.

To achieve this impressive range, Maruti Suzuki says the battery pack weighs between 600 and 700 kg. The battery’s lightweight design plays a crucial role in ensuring the e Vitara’s efficiency and long range. More details about the specifications of the Indian version will be revealed tomorrow.
