Maruti Suzuki Swift hybrid spy test

Swift Hybrid is about to be launched or it may just be a test platform for ADAS Finetune

In May 2024, Maruti Suzuki launched the new Swift in India with a starting price of Rs. 6.50 lakh (ex-showroom). It is powered by a 1.2-litre Z-series 3-cylinder engine that produces 80 BHP and 112 Nm of torque. Later, in September, they also launched the CNG version of the new Swift, priced from Rs. 8.19 lakh (ex-showroom).

Internationally, the Swift also comes with a hybrid powertrain using the same 1.2-litre engine paired with the hybrid system that produces slightly more power at 82 BHP while maintaining the same torque output of 112 Nm. Both models come with a 5-speed manual gearbox; however, the international version comes with a 5-speed CVT instead of the 5-speed AMT available in India.

Spy photos show the new Swift without camouflage, with hybrid badges on the doors and test car stickers. We expect the Swift to feature a mild-hybrid engine, although it appears to be undergoing ADAS fine-tuning testing. If the Swift adopts hybrid technology, its sales are likely to increase, albeit at a slight price increase.
