Maserati GT2 Stradale to debut at Monterey Car Week in 2024

Maserati has unveiled its latest track-focused marvel, the GT2 Stradale, at the 2024 Monterey Car Week in California. Unveiled alongside the North American-premiering MC20 Icona and the track-only MCXtrema, the GT2 Stradale is the road-going version of the Maserati GT2 that debuted in July 2023. The Stradale features a host of upgrades designed to reduce weight and improve performance while remaining road-legal.

Under the bonnet of the GT2 Stradale, the powerful 3.0-litre V6 ‘Nettuno’ engine is retained, now tuned to deliver around 640 hp, nearly 10 hp more than its track-only cousin. The Stradale has a low kerbweight of just 1,365 kg and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in just 2.8 seconds.

The Stradale’s design is more understated than the GT2, ditching the racing-style graphics for a sleeker, more aerodynamic shape. A new front bumper enhances airflow and cooling, while the car’s aerodynamics have been carefully refined to generate 500kg of downforce. Lightweight carbon-fibre components save weight, and an adjustable rear wing similar to the GT2 maintains high-speed stability. The rear also features a racing diffuser, and the braking system (including ventilated discs, calipers and pads) remains largely unchanged, albeit with a slightly track-focused anti-lock system.

New for the Stradale is the Corsa Evo driving mode, an advanced four-level traction control system that comes with the optional Performance Packs. These packs also include Michelin semi-slick tires, an electronic limited-slip differential, four-point seatbelts and other track-specific enhancements.

The GT2 Stradale’s interior is similar in layout to the MC20’s, with a rectangular infotainment screen and digital instrument cluster. Alcantara takes up much of the cabin, befitting the luxurious yet performance-focused nature of this supercar. The car is fitted with two sizes of lightweight carbon fiber racing seats, four-point seatbelts and a sports steering wheel with carbon fiber shift paddles.

Davide Grasso, Maserati CEO, said: “The Maserati GT2 Stradale is a product that will satisfy the most discerning enthusiasts, a completely new creation that embodies the entire essence of the brand.”
