- The accident involved a McLaren 570S and a Toyota Corolla and occurred in the Lake Highlands area.
- Both passengers in the McLaren were killed and one passenger in the Corolla was injured.
A black McLaren 570S was destroyed in a devastating crash in Dallas, Texas on Monday afternoon. The mid-engine supercar collided with a Toyota Corolla before crashing into a tree, splitting in half and scattering debris across the road. The collision killed 29-year-old Cristobal Flores Espino and 31-year-old McLaren driver and passenger Robert Leroy Rocha .
The crash occurred just after 3 p.m. in the Lake Highlands area of Dallas, police reported. While authorities have not yet revealed the cause of the crash or the sequence of events that led to the collision between the Toyota and McLaren, it is clear that the crash had a catastrophic impact on the vehicles involved.

Post-disaster photos paint a grim picture. The champagne-colored Toyota Corolla crashed head-on into a tree on the road’s median, while the McLaren followed suit and collided with the same tree. The force of the impact split the McLaren in half: its front half came to rest next to a tree, while its rear half (including the V8 engine) was thrown into the middle of the road.

Even though the McLaren 570S has a carbon-fiber monocoque, which is designed to withstand extreme forces, it still doesn’t protect its occupants from severe collisions. Espino and Rocha were both pronounced dead at the scene. At the same time, a passenger in the Corolla was also injured in the accident and was taken to a local hospital.
Both vehicles were severely damaged and neither was repairable. The front of the Corolla collapsed after contact with a large tree, inevitably destroying a significant portion of the front structure. As for the McLaren, its front end is already crumpled and will be scrapped. The rear appears to have less damage, and some parts may still be repairable, possibly including the car’s 3.8-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine.
The accident was a cruel reminder of the power of the road, even for a vehicle as advanced and rugged as the McLaren 570S.
