Meagan Keller, CMP, CEM, DES, is the Director of Client Services and Operations at CM Event Solutions. She is a seasoned meeting planner with over 14 years in the meetings and trade show industry, specializing in creating seamless events that engage and inspire.
She has a background in hospitality and association management and currently works for a third party organization, bringing a wealth of expertise to association client events. Meagan holds CEM and CMP qualifications and is passionate about travel and enjoys exploring new destinations while keeping up with industry trends.
Here, Megan shares why she loves serving at the IAEE Expo! Expo! Advisory Board and what she is most looking forward to about the Expo! Expo! The IAEE 2024 Annual Meeting and Exhibition will be held December 16-19 in Los Angeles, California.
What motivates you to attend the IAEE Expo! Expo! Advisory Board, what do you hope to accomplish through your service?
Attend the CIIE! Expo! I have been interested in advisory boards for some time. I joined the committee just as the COVID-19 pandemic was sweeping the United States and wanted to learn from others in the industry, as well as the IAEE, a leading industry expert, about how organizations would approach trade shows going forward while ensuring our future. industry. By being a part of this committee, I learned from other organizers the importance of looking at the industry as a whole and not just for the benefit of one organization.
In your opinion, what are the biggest challenges facing the exhibition and events industry today, and how Expo attendees are addressing them! Expo! Learn to solve these problems?
I think we are all struggling with budgets at the moment as internal budgets are shrinking while costs to venues and providers are increasing. I’m always looking for more budget-friendly options for our customers, but also great suppliers who understand the needs in this ever-changing economy. These concerns not only impact us as show organizers, but also the venues and partners we use and, most importantly, the attendees and exhibitors who show up. Collaboration with various partners becomes even more important to ensure that all stakeholder voices are heard throughout the campaign cycle.
How do you leverage your experience as an exhibition ambassador during the Expo! Expo! Gather insights and improve future campaigns?
As a display ambassador for the Expo! At Expo!, I draw on my experience and actively interact with other attendees and exhibitors to gather real-time feedback and insights. I focus on understanding their needs and desires, while also paying attention to trends and common themes that emerge in conversations.
As an exhibition organizer, what do you think is the biggest gain for people attending the Expo? Expo! ?
I personally love the education the Expo provides! Expo! I have attended many other industry events and always leave wishing there was more to come. My personal experience is that no other event offers the level of education that the IAEE provides in terms of exhibitions, sponsorships, or even risk/safety management.
What are you most looking forward to at this year’s CIIE? Expo! In Los Angeles?
I look forward to reconnecting with past connections and meeting new industry partners to network with. I’m also eager to hear from this year’s speakers on a variety of topics that are relevant and important to our industry.
