- A mechanic narrowly escaped death after being hit by a car while working in a garage.
- The technician was run over by a Scion xD, which pinned him against a giant tool cabinet when the brakes appeared to fail.
A professional mechanic avoided being sent to the human scrapyard in the sky when he was hit by a customer’s car during an accident in his home garage.

Video surveillance footage from inside the multi-station workshop showed a mechanic preparing to receive a car on an elevator. With the roller door up and the lift in the down position, all he had to do was move a sliding transverse jack on the main lift further back.

But while he’s still pulling the jack, a Scion xD hatchback suddenly enters stage left and we can immediately see it’s going way too fast. It bounced off the ramp leading to the elevator, moving so fast that the mechanic was only a yard or so away from the front of the car when he realized what had happened.
var adpushup = window.adpushup = window.adpushup || {que:()}; adpushup.que.push(function() { if (adpushup.config.platform !== “DESKTOP”){ adpushup.triggerAd(“5646c171 -cb6e-4e2c-8440-49013ca72758″); } else{ adpushup.triggerAd(” e7c4c913-3924-4b2d-9279-6c00984dd130″); } });
He jumped up and instinctively stretched his arms out in front of him, but of course he didn’t stand a chance, not even in a car as light as xD. He was pushed backwards by the impact of the car, like Marty McFly plugging his guitar into Doc Brown’s faulty amplifier, and was thrown to the end of the elevator and into a giant metal tool in the cabinet.

But that wasn’t the end of his problems, as the car was still running and had also crashed into a tool cabinet in the garage, leaving the mechanic with nowhere to go. Instead of backing up, perhaps out of panic or because he thought he would cause more damage, the driver jumped out of the car and yelled “Sam! Sam!” “
The driver obviously knew the mechanic, and he was wearing white gloves, so it was obvious he was a worker at the garage as well, not just a customer who mixed up the pedals. The Scion may have had brake failure, or the brakes may have failed and no one told the driver. But whatever the problem, he was moving too fast.
We couldn’t see the aftermath, but the person who posted the video to Twitter, claiming to be related to the store’s staff, said the mechanic escaped without serious injury.
