The winners who have secured a place in the Meetings Industry Association’s (MIA) prestigious miaList 2024 were announced at a celebration in Liverpool last night.
Competition for the industry association’s Honor Roll, which rewards individuals as well as organizations and teams for excellence in the business meetings and events sector, is fierce after a record-breaking year of nominations.
Following the association’s annual mia summit, where nominees gathered with industry peers at the Hilton Liverpool City Center, the celebration spotlighted inspiring talent across the industry while publicly recognizing their achievements, skills and contributions.
The ceremony began with a Special Recognition Award to Figen Murray, the driving force behind Martin’s Law. Following the tragic death of her son in the Manchester Arena terror attack in 2017, Figan campaigned tirelessly to drastically reduce the chance of a terror attack through the introduction of new legislation to stop terrorists targeting areas where people gather.

For the first time in miaList’s 14-year history, a fundraising raffle was also included, raising £3,860 for LaSalle Hospitality School, whose mission is to build a facility that nurtures individuals to excel in all aspects Empower young people. Hospitality industry.
