Mercedes-Benz will launch two new cars in India on August 8 – CLE Cabriolet and GLC 43 4Matic Coupe. Ahead of this, the company has shared teasers of the models on its social media, previewing some of the design elements. The first thing we see on the CLE Cabriolet is its stylish LED headlights, which are inspired by the C-Class sedan. From the side, the car seems to feature a low profile, large wheel arches, and large wheels.
On the other hand, the teaser image of the GLC 43 4Matic Coupe shows a coupe-like roofline, an AMG-specific grille with vertical slats, and large air intakes. While the blurry teaser image limits our view, the GLC 43 Coupe is expected to feature round dual exhaust pipes and forged 21-inch alloy wheels. Both models will be brought to the market as completely built-up units (CBU).

Mercedes-Benz CLE Cabriolet: powertrain, features
Upon launch, the CLE Cabriolet will be the third convertible in the company’s Indian range. Touted to be the largest car in its segment, the CLE Cabriolet is expected to be available in either 300 4Matic or 450 4Matic guise. If so, the upcoming convertible will be offered with either a 2.0-litre four-cylinder petrol engine or a 3.0-litre six-cylinder petrol engine. The smaller petrol engine produces 254bhp in the global-spec CLE 300 4Matic, while the larger petrol engine produces 375bhp in the CLE 450 4Matic.
The CLE’s powertrain configuration will also include 48V mild hybrid technology and a 9-speed torque converter automatic transmission. Expected features include an 11.9-inch longitudinal infotainment system, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, leatherette upholstery and a 2+2 seating layout. Prices are likely to be over Rs 1 crore (ex-showroom).
Mercedes-AMG GLC 43 Coupe: powertrain, features
The GLC 43 Coupe will also be offered in hybrid form, just like the CLE. The Coupe will be powered by a 2.0-liter four-cylinder turbocharged engine with mild-hybrid technology. In global-spec vehicles, this setup produces 421 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, with a claimed 0-100 km/h acceleration time of 4.7 seconds and a top speed of 250 km/h. Power is sent to all four wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission.
Since it’s an AMG model, the interior will feature AMG-specific elements, including the steering wheel, pedals, floor mats, and infotainment and instrument displays.
