Mercedes-Benz infotainment system software recall

An infotainment software bug could interfere with Mercedes’ automatic emergency braking system.

Mercedes said the recall is due to a software bug in the Mercedes-Benz User Experience (MBUX) infotainment system that could deactivate certain systems, including automatic braking for cross traffic in certain driving situations. alarm.

Mercedes learned in November 2023 that certain system tests found that parking assist was deactivated without warning.

The issue was investigated and testing revealed problems with the cross-traffic alert system and the automatic emergency braking system.

Mercedes has not received any reports of warranty claims, collisions or injuries.

Recall letters are expected to be mailed out on November 12, 2024, but Mercedes will issue an over-the-air (OTA) update to the infotainment system software and reset the parking control unit settings.
