Mercedes EQS 450 SUV launched at Rs 1.28 cr

After launching the Maybach EQS 680 SUV, Mercedes-Benz has launched the more affordable EQS 450 SUV in India. However, this car is assembled in India, has less taxes, and is a unique 5-seater model in India, which is currently not available in the global market. Priced at XX Cr (Ex-sh), this affordable non-Maybach variant is likely to expand Merc’s presence in the luxury SUV segment.

With the launch of the EQS 450 SUV priced at 1.28 Cr (Ex-sh), Mercedes-Benz has significantly reduced the price of this flagship electric SUV. The main reason for this attractive pricing is local assembly through CKD route at the company’s Chakan plant, thereby significantly reducing taxes.

Furthermore, this special 5-seater Mercedes-Benz EQS 450 SUV is exclusive to India and is very special. It is the entry-level model of Merc’s EQS SUV series. We have launched Mercedes-Benz Maybach EQS 680 SUV in India at INR 2.25 Cr (Ex-sh) and EQS 580 SUV in India at INR 1.43 Cr (Ex-sh) with flexible and versatile 7 seater layout.

In terms of size, the EQS 450 SUV 5-seater measures 5,125 mm in length, 1,959 mm in width, 1,718 mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 3,210 mm. In terms of design, it inherits the aerodynamic and swoopy design language of EQS, similar to the EQS 580 SUV.

The angled LED headlights with integrated LED DRLs follow the three-slat setup as it is an S-Class offering. An LED light bar connects the two headlights and indicates the width of the vehicle. The front of the EQS 450 SUV has a large closed grille, finished in gloss black and featuring a large Mercedes three-point star logo.

Gorgeous interior

Large alloy wheels, flush door handles, a subtle rear spoiler, eye-catching connected LED taillights and silver accents on the rear bumper are all eye-catching elements. Overall, there is not much difference in appearance design between the already launched EQS 580 SUV and the just launched EQS 450 SUV. The charging port is still located on the right rear fender.

Inside, the main standout feature is the 56-inch UltraScreen, which integrates three different screens into a single panel. The premium Burmester audio system delivers exceptional sound quality. Multi-zone climate control, 360 degree camera, soft closing doors, threshold lighting, puddle lights, level 2 ADAS, 9 airbags, Energizing Air Control Plus and more.

The 122 kWh battery pack on the Mercedes EQS 450 SUV promises a range of 820 kilometers on a single charge. The total system peak output of the two electric motors is 537 horsepower and 858 Nm respectively, enabling acceleration from 0 to 100 km/h in 4.7 seconds. Rated charging time from 10-80% SOC using a 200 kW DC charger is 31 minutes.
