Mercedes-Benz India has expanded its SUV lineup with the launch of the 2024 GLE 300d 4MATIC AMG Line. Priced at Rs 97.85 lakh (ex-showroom), the model replaces the 300d entry-level diesel model. The new model boasts several performance and design enhancements with a focus on sporty looks and improved driving dynamics.
Commenting on the launch, Santosh Iyer, Managing Director and CEO, Mercedes-Benz India said, “The GLE continues to be the most successful SUV from Mercedes-Benz in India with over 22,000 units sold on Indian roads, which reaffirms the tremendous response from customers since its debut. The high customer acceptance of the GLE has now been further enhanced with the introduction of the dynamic ‘AMG Line’ in the GLE 300d model. The AMG Line in the GLE 300d enhances the visual appeal of the SUV, making it more dynamic and striking in appearance, highlighting the growing customer demand for the ‘AMG Line’ in our vehicles. Mercedes-Benz is constantly listening to customer preferences and market demands by introducing new products and updates.”

2024 Mercedes-Benz GLE 300d 4MATIC AMG Series: Aesthetic Upgrade
The AMG body design, which consists of a dark grey matt single grille with chrome elements and a diamond grille with the Mercedes-Benz star emblem, visually distinguishes the GLE 300d AMG Line. These components enhance the SUV’s overall design language and reflect the premium German automaker’s “Sensual Clarity” design philosophy, which combines sportiness, elegance and power. The new SUV features a range of design elements inspired by Mercedes-AMG models, such as the 20-inch AMG 5-twin-spoke light-alloy wheels painted in high-gloss Treolite Grey, and the upgraded brake system complement the car’s overall sporty character. Other design features include the AMG rear apron with a black diffuser-look insert and chrome trim strips, air outlets on the rear wing, front and rear wing flares painted in the vehicle’s colour, an AMG front apron with chrome trim strips and sporty and distinctive air inlets at the front.
2024 Mercedes-Benz GLE 300d 4MATIC AMG Line: Powertrain Details
Under the hood, the GLE 300d 4MATIC is powered by an advanced 2.0-litre diesel engine with 48V mild-hybrid Integrated Starter Generator (ISG) technology. It is mated to a 9G-TRONIC automatic transmission. This combination is designed to provide a smooth and efficient driving experience. The 1,993cc four-cylinder engine outputs 265bhp (an extra 20bhp with the ISG) and 550Nm of torque. The car can accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 6.9 seconds and can reach a top speed of 230km/h.
2024 Mercedes-Benz GLE 300d 4MATIC AMG Line: Interior Features
Updates to the cabin include the latest version of the MBUX (Mercedes-Benz User Experience) infotainment system. The system boasts enhanced digital functionality, allowing for better control of vehicle and comfort features via the SUV’s LCD screen. In addition, the car is equipped with a Burmester surround sound system, which has 13 speakers and 590 watts of system output, designed to produce high-quality audio.

2024 Mercedes-Benz GLE: Pricing and Competition
The current price range of GLE starts from Rs 97.85 lakh to Rs 11.5 lakh. Both prices are ex-showroom. It competes closely with the likes of Audi Q7, Volvo XC90, BMW X5 and Lexus RX.
