
The Maybach EQS SUV has now become Mercedes’ flagship electric SUV in India.
Mercedes-Benz has launched the Maybach EQS electric SUV, its first electric Maybach, priced at INR 2.25 crore (ex-showroom). The luxury SUV is the second most expensive electric SUV in India after the Lotus Eletre and comes with Maybach-exclusive design and technology enhancements.

Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV: Design and interior
The Maybach EQS SUV is the same size as the standard EQS, but its signature Maybach waterfall grille with chrome bars stands out even more. In addition, the panels are made of indium, which allows radar waves to penetrate, so there is no unsightly radar panel. The iconic three-pointed star moves to the hood, and the optional two-tone paint scheme adds a touch of iconic elegance.
The interior still retains the three-screen layout, with a Maybach-specific start sequence and two 11.6-inch rear displays. Rear passengers get an MBUX tablet that can be used outside the car.
Optional packages include driver Rear seat comfort enhancement kit and Rear of first class The package includes a thermos cup holder, MBUX tablet holder, 4 USB-C ports and 2 HDMI ports. Optional extras include a folding table, a refrigerator compartment and silver-plated champagne flutes.
Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV: Powertrains and specs
In India, the Mercedes-Maybach EQS SUV is available only in the 680 variant. The EQS 680 is powered by a dual-motor drive that produces 658 hp and 950 Nm of torque, can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 4.4 seconds, has a top speed of 210 km/h, and comes standard with 4Matic AWD technology. It has a WLTP range of up to 611 km. A 200kW DC fast charger can charge the 122kWh battery from 10% to 80% in just 31 minutes, and can provide a range of 300 km in 20 minutes of charging.
This premium electric SUV has no direct rivals in India, though it competes with the Lotus Eletre in terms of pricing.
