MG Windsor EV price including battery announced, available in three models

The price of the MG Windsor EV starts at Rs. 13.50 Lakhs (ex-showroom). You can check out the full price list below, which includes batteries. Windsor is available in three models: Excite, Exclusive and Essence. Windsor also offers battery rental options with prices starting from Rs. Users who choose the Battery as a Service (BaaS) plan will receive $999,000.

Battery and range details

The MG Windsor EV is powered by a 38kWh LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery, which is a prismatic cell and is said to have a range of 331 kilometers on a full charge. The vehicle’s electric motor is mounted on the front axle and produces 136 hp and 200 Nm of torque. It also has four driving modes: Eco+, Eco, Normal and Sport.

In terms of charging, the Windsor is compatible with 45kW fast charging, which can charge the battery from 0% to 80% in 55 minutes. MG also provides 3.3kW and 7.7kW AC chargers. The former takes about 14 hours to fully charge, and the latter takes 6.5 hours to fully charge.

Features and equipment

Windsor offers comprehensive features including a 15.6-inch touchscreen infotainment system, an 8.8-inch digital instrument cluster, 135-degree reclining rear seats, and wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Other notable equipment include ventilated front seats, power driver’s seat, rear AC vents, wireless phone charging, panoramic glass sunroof, ambient lighting and a 9-speaker Infinity sound system.

The interior design makes full use of MG’s naturally electric platform, maximizing space through a flat floor and a large floating center console. For safety, the Windsor comes with six airbags, ABS with EBD, all four disc brakes, ESC, front and rear parking sensors and a 360-degree camera.

MG is offering several ownership benefits, including a lifetime warranty on the battery pack for first-time owners, a 60% guaranteed buy-back option after three years, and one year of free charging at public stations via the eHUB mobile app. Those who choose the BaaS model can rent the batteries individually and pay lower upfront costs, making it an attractive option for budget-conscious buyers.

The MG Windsor is priced very competitively in the electric SUV market, rivaling rivals like the Tata Nexon EV and Mahindra XUV400. While the Windsor is more affordable, the Nexon and XUV400 have significantly higher claimed ranges of 465 km and 456 km respectively due to their larger batteries.
