Missing Airbag Warning Sticker Triggers 2025 Hyundai Tucson Recall
  • This label warns passengers of the dangers of infants and children riding in the front passenger seat.
  • A total of 65 2025 Hyundai Tucsons are affected.
  • The upgraded Tucson was recently released, with a price increase of $755 over the 2024 model.

The 2025 Hyundai Tucson has been on the market for just a few months, and it’s already been hit with its first recall. Thankfully, the recall is limited to a few dozen vehicles in the United States that are simply missing the airbag stickers required by local safety laws.

Hyundai has revealed that some 2025 Tucson models produced at Kia Motors’ Mexican plant between June 7, 2024 and July 30, 2024 may not have the supplemental restraint system (SRS) label on the glove box.

These labels describe the increased risk that the airbag poses to an infant or child in the front seat. Without this label, the driver may not be aware of these risks and allow someone too young to sit in the front passenger seat, increasing the risk of injury.

Hyundai says the sticker may not have been applied at the vehicle processing center. A total of 65 Tucson models are affected. Dealers received the recall notice electronically on September 13, and owners will receive notification via first-class mail starting November 12, 2024. The mailing will include a new SRS sticker that they can apply to the glove box. Alternatively, owners can choose to bring their Tucson to a Hyundai dealer to have a technician apply the sticker.

The 2025 Tucson starts at $28,355, which is a $755 increase from the previous year, but the new model does benefit from some welcome upgrades. These include a new steering wheel, a larger 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a redesigned center console, and a new instrument panel. The 2025 model comes standard with a 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine with 187 horsepower and 178 pound-feet (241 Newton-meters) of torque.

Those seeking extra power can opt for a turbocharged 1.6-liter engine that runs in conjunction with an electric motor and a 1.49 kWh lithium-ion battery pack to produce 231 horsepower and 258 lb-ft (349 Nm) of torque.
