A St. Charles, Missouri, woman was left devastated after thieves stole her purple Dodge Charger, stripped the frame and dumped it on the side of the road.
The Dodge was stolen from the parking lot of Kim Winston’s apartment in St. Charles County on Aug. 5. She sent a Facebook message to friends to keep an eye out for the car, which was later found in the North City’s Baden neighborhood.

Talk to First Alert 4Winston said she reported the sighting of the car several times to the St. Louis Metropolitan Police Department and the St. Charles Police Department, but they refused to work together to track it down.
“These police municipalities need to get their act together,” she said. “Don’t tell me it’s in St. Charles so it’s not my fault. I mean, they left me there for four hours and they never came. They haven’t contacted me yet. I talked to the (St. Charles Police Department) officer and he said I keep getting reports that my car has been seen and he said if it was up to St. Charles, once they were over the bridge, they wouldn’t be chasing.”
When the car was rediscovered, it was completely lost. A photo shared online showed that almost every part of the Charger had been removed. All that was left was the car chassis, windshield and rear window. It seems that the person who stole the Charger has experience in disassembling such cars, as removing so many parts is not a trivial task.
To make matters worse, with no local bus service, the Charger is Winston’s only means of transportation. She also uses it to take her blind son to and from get off work.
