Despite its rally-inspired looks, the Ralliart version of this truck-based SUV doesn’t come with 4WD

- Mitsubishi has launched the new Ralliart-themed version of the Montero Sport in the Philippines.
- The SUV comes in black and red with Ralliart decals, but the bottom remains stock.
- Buyers can also receive free Ralliart merchandise, including umbrellas, backpacks and hats.
Mitsubishi has a strange strategy with the Ralliart brand, which is reflected in the latest special edition Montero Sport just launched in the Philippines. The Mitsubishi Montero Sport Black Series Ralliart Edition has sporty looks and free goodies, but underneath it’s a regular RWD model without any performance or chassis upgrades.
The special edition is only available in White Diamond colour, with black alloy wheels, glossy black fenders, red accents on the bumper and red fenders. Highlights are the red and black appliqués on the silhouette, as well as the Ralliart logo. This livery makes the SUV look like a rally support vehicle.

Interior upgrades are limited to Ralliart floor mats with red piping. Buyers can also get an umbrella, a backpack and a hat, all of which feature the Ralliart badge. The goods are included in the price of the vehicle, but they can also be purchased from Ralliart Asia’s official e-store.
As gorgeous as it looks, everything underneath the skin is completely pristine. The 2.4-liter four-cylinder turbodiesel engine produces 178 hp (133 kW / 181 PS) and 430 Nm (317 lb-ft) of torque and is paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission. Oddly, Mitsubishi has chosen to combine Ralliart handling with RWD models rather than offering the Super Select 4WD-II system as an option.
The Mitsubishi Montero Sport Black Series Ralliart Edition is now on sale in the Philippines priced at 2,277,000 pesos ($39,300). That means it’s a full 115,000 pesos ($2,000) more expensive than the model it’s based on, proving that Ralliart’s goods don’t come cheap.
The Ralliart accessory phase begins in 2022 with the Japanese market and has expanded to other regions, including aftermarket accessories or special editions, such as the aforementioned Montero Sport. Hopefully the automaker will use the expertise of its motorsport division to launch a rugged version of the Mitsubishi Triton or a production version of the performance-focused Outlander Ralliart concept.
The current Pajero Sport version has been around since 2015 and has been revised twice in a row in 2019 and 2024. The long-awaited next-generation ladder-frame SUV has been spied testing and is expected to go on sale in 2025. Like its predecessor, the new Pajero Sport will use the underpinnings of Mitsubishi’s Triton mid-size pickup truck.
