- Mitsubishi will launch two new compact SUVs in Europe in 2025 with the help of Renault.
- One of them will be a twin of the Renault Symbioz, available in petrol and hybrid options.
- The other will be fully electric, sharing its underpinnings with the Renault Scenic E-Tech.
Mitsubishi will soon expand its European lineup with the launch of two new compact SUVs, which will be built locally by Groupe Renault. One is an electric vehicle and the other is an ICE/HEV model, both of which will be launched in 2025.
The company released a teaser in which both SUVs are hidden alongside Mitsubishi’s existing European lineup. The model on the left is likely to be the Mitsubishi version of the Renault Symbioz, which is heavily based on the Mitsubishi ASX and Renault Captur small SUV twins. This is evident from the same light signature and slightly longer body.

Mitsubishi’s new SUV will be available with gasoline and self-charging hybrid powertrain options. Just like the Renault Symbioz, it will use CMF-B architecture and is expected to be 4,413 mm (173.7 inches) long.
Another upcoming SUV, initially announced in December 2023, is the first all-electric Mitsubishi vehicle since the 2010 i-MiEV. The car will be based on the Renault Scenic E-Tech, sharing the CMF-EV architecture with the Megane E-Tech, Nissan Ariya and Alpine A390.

The Renault Scenic E-Tech’s Mitsubishi sibling will sport a slightly tweaked exterior design with unique LED graphics at the front. Options may include 60 kWh and 87 kWh battery packs, as well as single-motor 168 hp (125 kW / 170 PS) and dual-motor 215 hp (160 kW / 218 PS) powertrains.
The automaker has revealed that its upcoming compact SUV will be equipped with a host of ADAS. They will also feature Google built-in infotainment systems, likely mirroring Renault’s OpenR system.
As the official trailer suggests, the new Mitsubishi model will sit above the Clio-based subcompact Colt and Captur-based ASX and below the Outlander PHEV. The latter, recently launched in Europe, features a more efficient plug-in hybrid system and a larger battery, with a combined range of up to 844 kilometers (524 miles).
