Money can’t buy taste, but it can buy a two-door Lamborghini

Money can't buy taste, but it can buy a two-door Lamborghini Urus
  • The controversial tuner transformed a Urus into an SUV Coupe.
  • Although the exterior design of Urus is very exaggerated, the interior is not too shabby.
  • Only eight examples of this luxurious two-door Urus were built.

If you’re in the market for a two-door Lamborghini, common sense would suggest you opt for the Revuelto or the Huracan alternative, the Temerario. But no, Mansory had to introduce a third option – a two-door version of the Urus SUV that no one asked for, but clearly someone, somewhere, needs.

It’s been a few years since the German tuner first launched a two-door version of its Urus, called the Venatus Coupe Evo C. Only eight of these exotic models were produced, and this is one of the most eye-catching examples we’ve ever seen. Like Mansory’s recent Ferrari Purosangue project, the tuner gave the SUV a complete makeover both on the outside and inside. Sure, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, but can you really look at this thing and tell us it’s not ugly?

The first half of the Urus is the first area to be destroyed. Mansory installed an eye-catching new bumper with a pronounced splitter and multiple aerodynamic canards. It then decks out the entire front end in a paint scheme that appears to depict thousands of small, interconnected links. This is indeed strange. For what it’s worth, we do think the aftermarket daytime running lights – which are shaped similarly to the Revuelto – are a good choice.

Continue to make modifications on the side. Mansory pushed the B-pillar back 200 mm (7.8 inches) and lengthened the Urus’s front doors, allowing it to completely remove the rear doors. The chain-link theme continues to the shoulder line, customer side skirts, and adorns the new side air intakes. The new wheels also feature center locks located above the orange brake calipers.

The rear of the Venatus Coupe Evo C is as exaggerated as the front. There’s a new wing protruding from the roof, a secondary wing on the trunk lid, and a small lip spoiler. Mansory then created a new diffuser for the Urus and developed three unique exhaust pipes located in its center.

The interior features a full Mansory treatment. Black Alcantara covers the seats, door panels, pillars, transmission tunnel, and headliner, offset with enough orange stitching and piping to remind you that, yes, someone paid extra for this. They also come with new seats, headliner star-style LED lights, and quilted leather carpets and floor mats that probably cost more than most people’s first cars.

As for performance, it’s unclear whether this particular version has the same underlying tweaks as previous versions. This version is powered by a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine that develops 900 horsepower and 811 pound-feet (1,100 Nm) of torque, propelling the SUV to 100 km/h (62 mph) in 2.9 seconds. Top speed is 323 km/h (200.7 mph). Not that anyone needs to go that fast on something so ridiculous, but hey – if you have the urge to shake off regret, there’s power in it.
