Moscone Convention Center, San Francisco, United States(Moscone Convention Center), located in San Francisco, United States, is the world’s largest conference and exhibition complex. The exhibition hall floor has over 700,000 square feet (65,000 square meters) of conference space with a total of 6 exhibition halls. Halls A, B, and C are located in the South Building and Halls D and E are located in the North Moscone building. A complex of three main halls spanning three city blocks and covering 87 acres (35 hectares) in the South Market district, the convention center opened in 1981 and is named after the former mayor of San Francisco.

In March 2004, Powerlight installed a large solar electric system on the roof of the center. The installation of the system marks San Francisco’s first major step toward obtaining all of its city’s energy from non-polluting sources. Area 60,000 square feet (5600 square meters) Solar Array (capacity 675 kilowatts), San Francisco has one of the largest urban solar installations in the country. The electricity produced by the solar system, combined with energy saved through energy efficiency measures, provides the equivalent of energy needed for approximately 8,500 homes.
