Paolo Pavesio, formerly Director of Marketing and Motorsport at Yamaha Motor Europe, has been appointed General Manager of the Yamaha Racing Team, effective 2025.
Yamaha Motor Corporation has appointed Paolo Pavesio as the new Team Principal of its MotoGP program, starting with the 2025 season. Pavesio will succeed Lin Jarvis, who has led the team for more than 20 years. A senior executive at Yamaha Europe, Pavesio brings a wealth of expertise to the position. He has served as a member of Yamaha’s Management Board and held various leadership positions in the company’s Netherlands office. Although Pavesio has not worked directly in MotoGP before, his deep understanding of Yamaha’s operations and proven track record make him ideally suited to lead the team into the future.

Paolo Pavesio will succeed Lin as Managing Director, Pavesio brings extensive experience at Yamaha Motor Europe, where he led the Yamaha team to world championship titles including WorldSBK, EWC and MXGP during his time as Marketing and Motorsport Director.

About Lin Jarvis
Yamaha Racing (YMR) Managing Director Lin Jarvis will retire at the end of 2024 after nearly 20 years with the company. He joined YMR in 1999 and led the team to eight riders’ titles, six constructors’ titles and seven MotoGP World Championships. While Jarvis will be stepping down, he will continue in a senior advisory role.
