Andrew: What are the recent improvements to Huntington Place?

Brian: Huntington Square has undergone dramatic changes over the past year, signaling a new era in downtown Detroit. Currently, $550 million has been invested in Huntington Place. We received approval and broke ground on a JW Marriott hotel that will bring more than 600 additional rooms and additional parking to our vibrant downtown.

Extending ASM Global’s contract for a further five years further solidifies their ability to implement far-reaching change and drive our vision forward. Looking ahead, 2025 is set to be a record-breaking year, with an unprecedented lineup of high-quality, large-scale shows that reflect the incredible drive and ambition of our venues and cities.

Andrew: What can event organizers find at Huntington Square?

Brian: Huntington Place sets the industry standard for customer service excellence. In fact, Detroit’s Huntington Place ranks No. 1 in “Highest Overall Experience” among large convention centers by ASM Global in its attendee survey and No. 2 in event organizer survey.

Brian: Waterfront properties are highly sought after for convention centers, and Huntington Place is ideally located on international waters. We took advantage of this and renovated an impressive triple-glazed atrium that offers unparalleled waterfront views so you can even wave to Canada from our front door. Huntington Place is also located in the heart of downtown Detroit, surrounded by 5,313 hotel rooms and 1,900 restaurants, all within walking distance, making your stay and dining experience extremely convenient.

For added convenience, our venue features the Detroit People Rapid Transit, a two-car train with a stop in our building that travels through downtown Detroit for free. Guests can hop on the train from the fourth floor of the convention center, grab lunch, shop and return directly to the event.

Andrew: How can the city’s business event services be optimized?

Brian: Detroit is quickly solidifying its reputation as a premier destination for business events, thanks to an array of exciting new city offerings… Downtown is also welcoming an impressive array of new hotels, including the Autograph Collection Hotel (Autograph Collection Hotel) and Edition Hotel (Edition Hotel).
